3. Far From The Madding Crowd

Far from the Madding Crowd is a British romantic movie that has been directed by Thomas Vinterberg. It was released around 2015. It was an adaptation by David Nicholls from the 1874 novel Far From The Madding Crowd written by Thomas Hardy. Well, it is known to be around the fourth film adaptation of the novel.

This movie stars Tom Sturridge, Michael Sheen, Carey Mulligan, and Matthias Schoenaerts. The main lead girl has to deal with so many trials and tribulations that come in her life while dealing with around three different men’s attention. One is a sheep farmer, another is a reckless sergeant, and then the last one is a well-to-do mature bachelor.

4. Journey’s End

Journey’s End is a British War film based on the 1928 play Journey’s End by R.C. Sherriff. This movie was released around 2017. Simon Reade has written it, and Saul Dibb directs the movie. You can say that it is around the fifth film adaptation of the play Journey’s End. The movie has been screened in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival 2017.

It shows you the story of a group of British officers. The group is led by a very young officer known as Stanhope, whose mental health has been rapidly disintegrating. The officers awaited their fate in a dugout in Aisne in 1918 during the end of World War I.

This drama is about British officers at the end of World War I. Journey’s End is a cinematic rendition of a play by R.C. Sheriff, who is a war veteran. The play had premiered in English in around 1928, and Laurence Olivier had played the lead role.

The play Journey’s End was a super hit, and it proved to the people that it could grow after several years. That’s the reason some filmmakers have come with the movie of the same title.

5. Remainder

After the main lead (Tom) is hit on the head by some falling object, Tom recovers without any memory, and then he is paid millions to keep quiet.

The people soon intoxicate Tess she has met and the different world she has been experiencing, like trying out expensive wine, learning whom she can trust, and finding out dive bars.

Waiting for Forever is an American movie about romance that was released around 2010. James Keach has directed it. It stars Tom Sturridge and Rachel Bilson. The movie has been shot in Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah. The movie had a minimal theatrical release, which began on February 4, 2011.

Well, being honest, some movies are just a treat to ourselves to watch, while there are other movies which are quite heartbreaking. It takes you on a roller coaster of love. The director has represented the movie throughout, capturing everything well and not only your attention. But, the focus on every detail made this movie fantastic. 9. Like Minds

This movie is a British thriller which is set at a boarding school in the UK. A schoolboy known to be Alex – an intelligent and privileged 17-year-old boy, has been suspected of the murder of his roommate known as Nigel. The police get Sally, a forensic psychologist, to question him about the murder, and when she starts questioning him, she learns a bizarre world of secrets and an obsession he has with the Templar Knights.

The character of Sally Rowe is played by Toni Collette, who is a police psychologist. She spends half of the film interviewing everyone around her, like Posh, Alex, Sulky. Tom Sturridge plays the role of Nigel, who has been murdered. Alex denies shooting Nigel (Tom Sturridge). So, Sally Rowe has to find out what the truth is from the brilliant young minds. 

The writer and director Gregory J Read made it a bit difficult hard to guess with superficial characters. Like Alex’s crush on a schoolgirl, some exciting plots connected with the murder and mystery. If you love watching mysteries, you will surely love this movie.

10. Henry V: The Hollow Crown

The story starts with Henry V’s funeral, after which the story shows the life of Henry V. It is a British television film based on the play of the same name by William Shakespeare. It started airing in 2012. Henry V is the fourth film and the fourth play in the television films’ tetralogy, which is called The Hollow Crown, and the play in Shakespeare’s tetralogy.

Sam Mendes produces the Hollow Crown for BBC Two, which covers the entire Shakespeare’s Henriad. Thea Sharrock beautifully directs it. It shows how the French challenge the English army to fight a battle at Agincourt.
